Just read this article with interest, it's about a high speed eddy current system:

We used a similar set up on a pipeline once and it was blisteringly fast. Anyone out there know about the accuracy of it thgouh? I heard they were a little less accurate.

Interesting, I pulled this out from the main body of the text:
"Rail-inspection trains could inspect the railway system under the same conditions as today, but at the speed of an ICE high-speed train."

Looks like a nifty device - I'd also like to see a report on its accuracy.
