Hello,

I had been laid off and have been looking to make a solid change to a career that would better suit my life. I started a window cleaning company (did that while I was in college) with hopes of one day hanging off of tall buildings squeegee in hand. Well as the prospects of mid-rise started to come around, I had to figure out how to best get to the windows on the sixth floor...Rope Access. Super cool, something I had longed for since ROTC ropes. Then I started to think that I'd like to do it safely. (Hot wife, two boys, good reasons.) Lo and behold there are things in the rope access industry that interest me further than windows...NDT. I have always been a science nut, a bit OCD, and to get to be a nerd on a rope, Perfect!

So to make a long story short, I have an opportunity to apply for company that will give me the NDT training and I would like to submit my resume in a format that would be familiar and need some advice or maybe an example of what kind of information I should include. What is important for those who employ NDT techs to exhibit in their work histories?
Should that be mentioned in a cover letter?

I have no experience, but I believe my desire to do the job, and investments I have already put into my education will offer me the opportunity to achieve my goals.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.
Manuel.
