  • Our many years of providing Non Destructive Testing (NDT) services to the engineering, fabrication and construction industries throughout Scotland has enabled us to build up an extensive project of experience. A number of our technicians have been with us for nearly twenty years and there will be little that they haven’t seen before!

We offer the full suite of NDT disciplines, with the exception of radiography, and are able to tackle any scale or duration of project from ship surveys to quality assurance of welding on construction projects.

Our Glasgow head office is well placed for accepting delivery of test items and we operate a fleet of ten service vans for on-site Non Destructive Testing.

We are able to draw on the resources of Axiom Offshore Services, based in Aberdeen, as required and conventionally hard to access areas can usually be reached by a combination of rope access, powered access, mobile scaffolding or work positioning netting. All provided as part of a combined NDT package as required.

Amongst our other accreditations, we are audited by Lloyds Register and American bureau of Shipping. Our quality management system has been assessed to BS EN ISO 9001: 2008.

  • axiom-ndt-rope-access-services Axiom NDT Limited Rope Access Services Specialist Rope Access

Rope access systems can be adapted to enable safe access in a very wide variety of work situations and can offer considerable advantages over other methods of access. These advantages include speed of installation, low manning levels, flexibility, reduced process down time and above all - SAFETY.

  • Axiom Offshore Services is the specialist access division of Axiom NDT Ltd (Est. 1985), operating both on and offshore. We offer a package of rope access services designed to provide a one-stop service for clients requiring structural inspection, maintenance or upgrade of their assets.

    • Rope access is a means of gaining access to locations at height or depth that would be difficult or dangerous to reach by other means.
    • In its simplest form, rope access could be described as industrial abseiling and is perfectly suited to inspection, maintenance or light construction activities – either as the principal form of access or in support of other methods.
    • Rope access systems are based around the principal of ‘double protection’, meaning that workers are always protected by both a primary and secondary means of suspension – safe to use and quick to install.

We offer a package of rope access services designed to provide a one-stop service for clients requiring structural inspection, maintenance or upgrade of their assets. Our safety record is exemplary and we pride ourselves in this.

Our safety record is approaching over 600 offshore rope access projects, no lost time incidents.

  • Non Destructive Testing or NDT, is quite simply a means of assessing the structural integrity or properties of structures or materials without damaging them (although some techniques do require surface coatings to be removed).

The term applies to a range of methods from a straightforward visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection or dye penetrant inspection, to more complicated disciplines such as Eddy Current Inspection or Ultrasonic Testing. The various techniques are designed to compliment each other to provide the client with an complete product inspection coverage.

Of critical importance to all Non Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques is the ability (of the technician) to interpret the results generated and to understand where they fit into an assessment of the integrity of the structure as a whole. This only comes with experience and is an area in which our track record speaks for itself.

Our core team (permanently employed and qualified to both PCN and ASNT standard, including the new PCN /CSWIP Offshore Inspectors qualification) have been with us many years and are supported by an in-house inspection department.

Axiom personnel were at the forefront during the early development of ultrasonic and eddy current testing and this innovative approach continues today with the adaptation of existing technology to meet new challenges (testing through TSA coating using Eddy Current or Ultrasonic Testing of stainless steel mast bolts in the Renewables industry, for example).
