    Lyon Products & Services

  • lyon rope access training Lyon Equipment Limited Equipment supply Equipment supply

As well as producing high quality individual items we also assemble equipment into bespoke kits that will enable you, with specific training, to undertake work or rescues from height or confined spaces.

  • From our well known ladders and ‘black’ slings through to rope and kit bags, Lyon Equipment manufactures a huge range of products for work at height and rescue for customers throughout the world. Based at Tebay, Cumbria, Lyon Equipment Manufacturing offers stock and custom made products to a vast array of sectors.

Originally set up to produce durable tackle bags for cavers, Lyon Manufacturing has grown over time in size and scope to a point where we can offer a highly professional production service for clients needing Personal Fall Protection, technical and non-technical textile and wire based products.

As well as producing high quality individual items we also assemble equipment into bespoke kits that will enable you, with specific training, to undertake work or rescues from height or confined spaces.

    These have, for example, included:

-Pick-off type rescue kits for construction, theatre and Emergency Service users.
-Personal evacuation kits for forklifts in high bay warehouses, mobile elevating working platforms and from high level ‘mast climbing’ suspended platforms.
-Emergency recovery systems from wood poles, masts and pylons for utility workers.

Please click the links below for further information on the range of products we produce or alternatively contactus.

We are able to offer clients a competitive sewn product manufacturing service for a diverse range of custom products.  We can do this because our UK base allows rapid prototyping and turnaround of small and medium sized production runs, ensuring that clients receive the product they need at the right time and price.

    Examples of non-technical products include:

    -Personal kit bags.
    -Transport bags.
    -Rope protection.
    -Rescue dog jackets.

In addition to non-technical items we continue to invest in sophisticated manufacturing machinery to allow the production of specialist equipment such as sewn slings, lanyards, wire anchor strops and flexible sided ladders.  We are able to provide sewn terminations and eyes for ropes up to 13.5mm diameter and high strength bar tacks on webbing.

Examples of Lyon technical products include:

    -Slings and Quickdraws.
    -Lanyards and anchor strops.
    -Restricted access stretchers.
    -Casualty evacuation harnesses.

Geographically Lyon Logistics could not be more ideally located - immediately off the M6 at Junction 38 with a major refuelling depot next door. The 42,000 square foot warehouse is expertly run by the Lyon Logistics team, who ensure that orders are despatched when you want them. The combination of the dedicated Logistics team along with the ideal location allow Lyon to pride itself in its 'Next day delivery' promise to customers.

Whilst we’re happy and able to work to instruction – producing products to a client’s design, many customers have benefitted from our ability to develop solutions from scratch.  Since 1973 we’ve gained a huge amount of experience in solving equipment  related problems encountered by work and rescue professionals and can often suggest ideas or refinements which really help (how many other companies do you know that can sew a ladder?)

    Examples of product development include:

    -Flame resistant helicopter evacuation ladders.
-Line rescue equipment storage and deployment rolls.

Commercial and/or compliance reasons require information to be permanently attached to products. We can sew labels with your information into most soft products during the manufacturing process and have both laser and mechanical engraving systems available for metallic items. We can also offer bespoke company branding on selected soft goods and helmets using adhesive transfer or heat press systems.
Lyon Equipment’s reputation for being able to deliver is second to none, and we work very hard to keep it that way. All our production and business systems are managed under the ISO9001 Standard. Significantly, this accreditation covers the design and production of products which have a direct impact on the personal safety and as holders of ISO9001 Lyon Equipment can demonstrate a level of ability beyond that of many sewn product service providers.

To give a flavour of the size of our manufacturing operation and our capabilities here is a snapshot of some of the machinery we have to hand:

    We're Not A Test House But…

Although we don’t offer a commercial “test house” service you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise when viewing the test equipment at our facility in Tebay.  Where other manufacturers of similar products might require out sourced batch testing and prototype testing, we can do it in-house, bringing speed and cost benefits to our clients.

Our customers trust us with their lives as well as their business reputation.
