Simulator training – turning theory into practice
Simulators may not be relevant in all our training but we aim to involve real life scenarios wherever possible. Maersk Training leads the way in developing simulators and programmes that move training closer to our clients' working environment, preparing people for on-site situations.

We hold course accreditations from industry leaders like Siemens Wind Power and Vestas. This makes us a one-stop shop for the wind industry, and we plan our courses for just-in-time training.
We can deliver the courses in one back-to-back session when our clients need it, as well as plan to the specific demands of each client. We say flexibility without compromise.
Brand new facilities
Our bases are at the wind industry hubs of Denmark and the UK. We utilise brand new facilities to create life-like learning experiences. Training can also be delivered at other training centres, including courses required for working in the UK.

Working at Heights
The assessment has been carried out by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
The IRATA Rope Access Training provides the required skills for all persons currently working in or looking to commence any type of roped access work.
LEVEL 1 (Trainee)
A Level 1 Rope Access Technician shall be capable of performing a limited range of rope access tasks required by their employers, under the supervision of an IRATA level 3 Rope Access Technician, including:
Responsibility for inspections of all their own personal rope access equipment.
Being able to assist in rigging and non-standard operations, under the guidance of a higher grade.
Being able to undertake a rescue involving descent and have knowledge of hauling systems.
LEVEL 2 (Operative)
A Level 2 Rope Access Technician is an experienced rope access technician who has Level 1 skills plus more complex rigging, rescue and rope access skills, including:
Rigging working ropes.
Undertaking rescues and performing rope access tasks under the supervision of an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician.
Knowledge of legislation, safety requirements and quality assurance procedures relating to rope access.
LEVEL 3 (Supervisor)
A Level 3 Rope Access Technician is capable of complete responsibility for rope access safety in work projects, including:
Site supervision for rope access work projects.
Being conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation.
Able to demonstrate all the skills and knowledge required of levels 1 and 2.
Have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
Hold an appropriate current first aid certificate, to show that suitable emergency first aid training has been undertaken.
Have knowledge of the IRATA certification scheme.
Have knowledge of the IRATA Training, Assessment and Certification Scheme.
Be familiar with the contents of the IRATA ICOP.
Please note that the IRATA rope access training course is a very physical course. A good standard of fitness is required in order to participate.
The purpose of this course is to ensure that anyone wishing to work offshore is equipped with all the relevant basic safety knowledge and skills relevant to offshore installations. It also offers an understanding of emergency response on an installation and during helicopter transit. The course also offers an introduction to essential safety elements of the offshore oil and gas industry. It will also enable delegates to work in Norwegian waters by explaining Escape Chute techniques.
The course is composed of both theoretical and practical elements designed to educate and assess delegates:
Sea survival and emergency first aid
Fire fighting and self rescue
Helicopter safety and escape
Escape Chute Training
Introduction to the hazardous offshore environment
including safety observation systems
Understanding the risk assessment process
Tasks that require a permit to work
Personal responsibility in maintaining asset integrity
Using manual handling techniques every day
Controlling the use of hazardous substances offshore
Knowledge and practices of working at height
Being aware of mechanical lifting activities
Upon completion of the course, delegates will have earned a basic understanding and awareness of the hazards they will face when working offshore. They will also receive an introduction to the safety regime and safety management systems in place to control and mitigate those hazards. Following instructor explanation and demonstration delegates must show understanding and competency in the different course modules.
Delegates must be at least 16 years old and will be requires to complete a medical questionnaire.
