Creation of new jobs and training programme at Axiom NDT Ltd

Company growth during 2010/11 has allowed the creation of new onshore jobs for multi-disciplined NDT technicians. Staff training now includes LEEA courses.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Creation of New Jobs Onshore:2010/11 has been a very busy year onshore for Axiom NDT Ltd, with the successful (and early) completion of the M74 Extension project, as well as ongoing work on the new Commonwealth Games Velodrome and Forth Road Bridge strengthening project bolstering the, always heavy, routine work load. This level of activity has allowed the creation of two new permanent positions for multi-disciplined NDT technicians. The past year also saw long serving employee Mark Burns make an impact in his new role as Inspection Manager. Already holding PCN Level II certification in all the usual inspection disciplines (MPI, DPI, UT, EC), Mark recently qualified as an API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector.Mark has been with Axiom for over ten years and with around thirty years of experience in the non-destructive testing industry (both on and offshore) has become a key member of the management team and as such the focal point for onshore activities.Commitment to Training:Axiom are committed to the professional development of their employees and with support from Glasgow City Council have recently added specialist training in examination of lifting equipment to their Skills Development Programme. The training is provided by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and is generally considered to represent the gold standard in this field. The programme devised will allow already experienced technicians to gain an internationally recognised qualification, as well as providing an excellent grounding for those that are less familiar with this inspection discipline.Continued Expansion:The launch of the new Axiom Offshore Services division combined with increased onshore activity throughout the UK has further established the company within the market place, as Managing Director Craig Donnelly explains:‘Despite the challenging trading conditions that prevail in this economic climate, our turnover has doubled in successive years since 2008.We believe that this is a reflection of both the quality of the service we offer and the effort that we put into building close working relationships with our clients, new and old.Initial end of year figures suggest that 2010/2011 was another excellent year’.New Website:A new website has accompanied the launch of Axiom Offshore Services and full information on both the new division and Axiom NDT can be found at: www.axiomndt.co.uk ####Axiom NDT LimitedTel: 00 44 141 427 3302W: www.axiomndt.co.ukDetails: www.rigg-access.com/company/more_details.asp?uid=7291
