Whilst TWI offers training and certification in long established conventional NDT methods, we also offer certification and training in advanced NDT techniques
New and advanced NDT techniques are continually under development. TWI is at the forefront of research and development within the welding and joining of materials. This also necessitates looking at the inspection of such joints and associated materials, which leads to NDT.
Whilst TWI offers training and certification in long established conventional NDT methods, we also offer certification and training in advanced NDT techniques such as phased array ultrasonic testing, time of flight diffraction, computed/digital radiography, thermography, alternating current field measurement (ACFM) and automated ultrasonic testing (AUT).
Your theoretical training can be complemented with our eLearning and blended learning packages which allows you to prepare for your course and examination in your own time and at your own pace.
TWI's non-destructive testing (NDT) training courses give you a comprehensive understanding of the processes where tests are conducted on a component without destroying the item or its structure.
NDT is used across industries such as aerospace, oil and gas, nuclear, power generation, medical, rail and general manufacturing to name a few. It is a crucial aspect of quality control and ultimately health and safety.
Common or conventional methods include visual testing, penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing, radiographic testing and ultrasonic testing and each have their advantages and disadvantages. With advancements in digital control and imaging, other techniques have been developed including phased array ultrasonic testing, time of flight diffraction, digital and computed radiography, eddy current array and pulsed eddy current.
With over 50 years' experience, highly knowledgeable staff and a worldwide network of locations, we are trusted by industry to deliver high quality NDT training.
Learn at your own pace, boost your theoretical training and prepare for your course with TWI’s eLearning and blended learning packages which allows you to prepare for your course and examination in your own time and at your own pace.
